Candle Care:
Wick Maintenance: Trimming: Always trim the wick to about 1/4 inch before lighting. This helps prevent excessive soot and ensures a cleaner burn.
Burning Tips: First Burn: When lighting a new candle, allow it to burn long enough for the entire top layer of wax to melt, usually 1 hour for every inch of candle diameter. This prevents tunneling.
Avoid Drafts: Keep candles away from drafts, fans, or open windows to promote even burning and minimize soot.
Time Limit: Do not burn a candle for more than 4 hours at a time to prevent overheating and excessive soot buildup.
Storage : Cool and Dark Place: Store candles in a cool, dark place to prevent fading and warping. Keep Away from Heat Sources: Avoid placing candles near radiators, stoves, or other heat sources.
Extinguishing Candles
Snuffing vs. Blowing: Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame rather than blowing it out, which can create smoke and splatter wax.
Cooling: Allow the candle to cool completely before moving it or relighting it.
5. Cleaning
Wax Spills: Clean up wax spills promptly with warm, soapy water or by gently heating the area with a hairdryer to soften the wax for easier removal.
Dusting: Keep the candle free from dust and debris to maintain its appearance and fragrance.
6. Safety Precautions
Supervision: Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Children and Pets: Keep candles out of reach of children and pets to avoid accidents.
Surface Protection: Use appropriate candle holders to protect surfaces from heat and wax spills.
